World Blood Donor's Day
World Blood Donor's Day 2020
Hey friends ,today, I would write and introduce about World Blood Donor's day in this blog. Friends, today it is a very important day. It is crucial for us that we must know how much is the importance of blood.
The need for safe blood is universal in the whole globe. Safe blood is very critical both for treatments and urgent interventions. It can help patients suffering from life-threatening conditions to live longer and with a higher quality of life.
Also, an adequate supply of safe blood supports complex medical and surgical procedures. Blood is also vital for treating the wounded ones who were injured during the emergencies like natural disasters, road accidents, armed conflicts, industrial fires, etc. It also has an essential, life-saving role in maternal and neonatal care.
But access to safe blood is still a privilege of the few. We humans are at a stage of technology which may build mechanical organs with our genius minds but still we aren't at a stage or level where we can create artificial blood to fulfill the global needs of blood.
Most low- and middle-income countries struggle to make safe blood available because donations are very low amongst them and the equipments to test blood is very low and scarce due to their low budget.
Globally, around the world, nearly 42% of blood is collected in high-income countries, which sadly are home to only 16% of the whole world’s population.
So, it can be said that an adequate supply of safe blood can only be assured through regular donations by voluntary unpaid blood donors. This is why the World Health Assembly in 2005 designated a special day to thank blood donors and encourage more people to give blood freely.
World Blood Donor Day takes place every year on the 14th of June. It is meant to applaude, appreciate as well as thanking blood donors, it is a day to raise awareness about the global need for safe blood and how everyone can contribute to meet the global needs.
Blood donations are needed all over the world to ensure individuals and communities have access to safe and quality-assured blood and blood products in both normal and emergency situations.
Through the campaign, we can call on more people to join this movement all over the world to become life-savers by volunteering to donate blood regularly.
Many people die each year due to the shortage of the available blood or organs. Blood is very important for our body.
It must not be in a very minimal amount than the body requirement. Otherwise it would cause many problems like hypovolemia, etc. Also it must be in a flowing state so that its thickness and viscosity remains in a specific range according to the health experts of World health organisation.
If it becomes still or if it is moving in a very slow speed, then it may harm the body in a very dangerous and ridiculous way.
So important is the blood, so is important the blood donor. They are surely must be considered as heroes and sheroes in the healthcare sector. They do a great thing like the candle which burns itself to enlighten others' life. Similarly, the blood donors give their blood to save the life of others.
So,I am coming to an end to this blog of World Blood Donor's Day hoping that you would like this blog. So, please follow our blog and share and comment on it. I would take a leave friends giving a message at the end:
